Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse (RN) – PreOp - PACU - Procedural!
Are you a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact? We are actively hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) - PreOp/PACU/Procedural to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care before and after surgical procedures while upholding the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess patients’ preoperative and postoperative status, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic stability.
Monitor and interpret data from noninvasive and invasive monitors accurately.
Understand and describe the pathophysiology of common disease processes and anesthesia techniques.
Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia care plans.
Ensure safe and effective recovery from anesthesia, including general, monitored, regional, and local anesthesia.
Protect patients from injury due to positioning, thermal sources, and external objects.
Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the perianesthesia continuum of care.
Provide acute pain management and ensure safe medication administration using the 8 Rights of Safe Medication Administration.
Perform interventions to maintain wound integrity, tissue perfusion, and normothermia.
Prevent infections and manage patients’ fluid and co-morbid conditions effectively.
Educate patients and their support systems about post-operative care, medication management, pain control, and recovery expectations.
Advocate for patient rights, dignity, and privacy while providing culturally competent, ethical care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate patient status efficiently through hand-off reports.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance evaluations, and team meetings.
Maintain competencies and pursue professional growth.
Ensure compliance with all facility policies and procedures, demonstrating fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of Pre-Operative or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience required. Prior medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Licensure: Current and active state nursing license in good standing.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of employment or proof of current certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment or proof of current certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 90 days of employment if pediatric care is included in the facility’s scope of services, or proof of current certification.
