At SCA Health, we recognize that health care is always evolving, and so are the needs of our clinical teams. That's why we've created dedicated programs for SCA Health nurses, offering practical training and support as a means to grow exceptional clinical leaders across our organization.
Periop 101 OR Nurse Development Program
SCA Health’s Periop 101 OR Nurse Development Program is designed for registered nurses (RNs) to enhance their knowledge and skills to work in a dynamic OR environment and/or lead Perioperative clinical care delivery teams. The program has two versions: the Standard Program for frontline staff RNs and the Clinical Leader Program for clinical leaders without OR experience. By completing the program, nurses will gain a deeper understanding of the ‘WHY’ behind the perioperative standards, enhancing both their confidence & competence while working in the OR and supporting the OR staff.
Preop/PACU Nurse Development (PPND) Program
SCA Health's Preop/PACU Nurse Development (PPND) Program is designed to help RNs bridge the knowledge gaps in the preoperative and postoperative settings. This hybrid program meets virtually one day a week allowing the participants to engage with one another through conversations and collaboration. Participants also complete weekly modules that provide foundational information for perianesthesia nurses. Additionally, presenters from both SCA Health and beyond share knowledge about best practices and the safe use of equipment. Overall, this program helps RNs develop competency to deliver excellent care and speak up for patient safety in the preoperative and postoperative settings.
RN Clinical Ladder Program
The RN Clinical Ladder Program was designed to support registered nurses who want to advance professionally while continuing to provide direct patient care. This program offers five levels of advancement and is a points-based system that recognizes and rewards RNs for their contributions and achievements. Eligible RNs can earn points by doing things they're likely already doing! Examples include cross-training, obtaining education degrees and certifications, volunteering in the community, presenting at conferences, participating in committees, publishing articles, receiving awards and more.
